You will have the enhanced tools and technology, to create and develop web based design requirements, based on an understanding of brand requirements and a knowledge of the principles of visual organization/composition, information hierarchy, symbolic representation, typography, aesthetics, and the construction of meaningful images. With an understanding of object-oriented programming principles, learning software constructs and other web techniques, you will have the ability to develop interactive websites.

In this semester being a beginner, you will be exposed to the fundamentals of drawing techniques and introduction to fine art drawing, Nature Study and Outdoor Study. Also, you would be made aware of development, observational abilities, rendering skills, exploring the methods of describing objects in terms of line, value, shape and texture. The course is designed to help you understand and explore the principles of light, space, composition and perspective using a variety of medium and techniques.
Drawing in nature study details how to draw or paint all kinds of organic forms like plants, animals, flowers, fruits, vegetables etc.
Outdoor study tests the student’s observational abilities to illustrate land scape and city scape with the use of perspective approach.
In the Anatomy drawing course, emphasis would be on the structure, anatomy study and expressive design of the human form in detail. Drawing under anatomy study will contain how to draw and construct different parts of the male and female figure. The purpose of anatomy study is to develop perceptual skills in terms of drawing and constructing a correct human figure with accurate proportions. Students will be explored to a variety of media and techniques on drawing papers best suited for each medium.

Introduction to art history is an exploration into the world of art. This class is designed to provide a platform for discussion about art and also to develop appreciation for the arts. The iconography, stylistic development, cultural and historical context of various sculptures, paintings and architecture will be studied. Moreover, you are exposed to a two-dimensional flat pictorial representation of a three dimensional object. You will also learn where it is used, to convey design, manufacturing and quality support information related to how an object is to be built. Detail development of drawings for presentation and communication of ideas and designs would be covered as well. Ample exposure to design and execution of lettering with a broad tip instrument dip pen or a brush along with other writing instruments, contemporary calligraphic styles will be made to experiment and understand the art of drawing or painting various signs in an expressive, harmonious and skillful manner.

This semester traces the history of communication along with its nature and scope. Emphasis will be placed on some common communication models. This will make the student aware of newspaper management and web journalism. The students would be exposed to making of handmade poster which is an excellent way to communicate ideas across quickly. Students majorly will be learning poster composition technique and concept based visual representation by using painting/ drawing, magazine/ pictures collage, hand printmaking etc. They will add to the learning of traditional poster making techniques so that they get an experience of handmade poster design. Detail development of poster making to present and learn to communicate their ideas and designs.
Students will also be introduced to photography with emphasis placed upon the technical, aesthetic, social aspects and historical perspectives of this medium. Also, using of a camera and the role of a black and white darkroom and its procedures are explored. This course also includes Print Production for making black-and-white and colour photographs as well as studio techniques that include portrait lighting and still life photography. Students also get to learn fundamentals of photo editing techniques using softwares. This would held them to bring out the best in the photos they have clicked in the learning process. They would be made to learn and practice techniques like improving lighting and colour, removing unwanted content, adding special effects and finally saving in different file formats.

This semester has been specially designed to address concepts of mass communication, printing and designing subjects. It begins with the concept and theory of art. It encompasses all sectors in layout planning, designing and graphic technology in totality. This subject helps identify print and design related problems and analysis of the same and suggests solutions that can be implemented as per the needs and requirements. The students will be able to create ads or collaterals for print or internet use. Students would also learn Vector Drawing, create patterns, logos, signages, business cards and calendars. Also object-based drawing, practical exercises in basics of object manipulation including reflecting, shearing and blending; additional content includes subtleties of layering curves towards creating professional, computer-based illustrations etc. Towards the end, students would be creating posters, leaflets, brochures, packaging, labeling etc. The project work is supported by theoretical information and assignments in the complementary nature of systematic and creative thinking in the various stages of the design process combined with visual, structural and functional analysis of design system. The outcome of the project will be in the form of innovative and conceptual design proposal that reflect the students understanding of the design process.

In this course of motion graphics design. Students learn the importance of motion graphics in today’s industry. Experimenting and exploring new technological approaches in creating digital effects, Titles, Logos and animation for video and web-based applications. This course introduces the aesthetics of graphic design elements for on-screen titling in television and motion picture media. Emphasis on artistic techniques involving typography, story boarding, layout and composition, motion graphics and image compositing is given. The course focuses on practical, hands-on skills of design essentials; color theory, font selection, Logo designing, Logo animation, motion graphics, 2D effects and project planning. This course introduces sound design in the context of audio-visual production. Students will be exposed to both theoretical and practical aspects of design and audio-vision. Lectures will introduce concepts to be applied in the analysis of sound design in film and animation works. Students will be asked to develop critical strategies for analysis and will be producing a soundtrack for a given short film/motion graphic video. Students will learn how to create a project and organize files and Create, gather and import graphic, video and audio clips; and create a composition. Additionally, students will work with layers, filters, masks, and render the composition for export and distribution.

This semester will introduce students to 3D applications and focus on the fundamentals of 3D computer graphics. Students get to know the present industry / Production workflow and enhance their knowledge in film, television and the video game industry. In this course students learn the process of creating basic properties in an environment and understand the implementation of real life objects into a virtual environment. During this course students will learn how to create a house interior/exterior, properties, vegetation, weapons etc. In this course students will have a strong foundation of 3D software and its uses in creating basic shapes, forms and properties in a scene or environments. After gaining sufficient knowledge in 3D, students learn the Anatomical construction and digital re-creation of believable characters and accessories in 3D. Students will develop and construct 3D Characters and accessories intended for animation. In this course student understands the importance of materials on a surface and their visibility by shading. Colour theory is the foundation of this course and helps every individual to understand the primary and secondary colours. Painting and texturing is the next milestone to reach and conclude in getting photo realistic characters/ animals/ creatures. In this course student learns the lighting techniques in real world and the physics involved in real life. Using these skills we apply the lighting to replicate real life by creating diffuse lights, reflections, shadows, indirect illuminations, colours etc. in a 3D scene. This is one of the biggest challenges in industry to implement and execute photorealistic outputs.

This semester deals with the origin of e-commerce, its meaning, definition and application of e-commerce. The students would be explained variety of elementary topics viz. the Internet and World Wide Web, Security and on Net and Firewall concepts, E-transactions, EDI applications and value added networks, Domain names, web servers, cyber laws etc., in sufficient detail. Websites fueled with animation have more potential to bring about user engagement and interaction through various forms of banner advertisements or application. This subject mainly deals on the design and animation and exposes one to different tools which are/ can be used to create web animations. C is a powerful, flexible, portable and elegantly structured programming language. Since it combines the features of a high-level language with the elements of the assembler, it is suitable for both system and application programming. Also, it is undoubtedly the most widely used general-purpose language today as it brings the students closer to the fundamentals in understanding the working of a computer. The students also learn scripting for web animations. They would learn methodologies in systematically developing individual Project portfolios. The semester ends by culminating to a live website.

Usability is the degree to which a software can be used by specified consumers to achieve quantified objectives with effectiveness, efficiency with a sense of satisfaction in a quantified context of use. This course adds on the concept of Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) to HTML which transforms simple web pages to SEO friendly designs that enable faster loading web pages. The students learn the importance of managing the design factors of a website from a single point control which is a CSS file. Students also learn to use the latest frameworks to build responsive websites. In today’s world, one can’t just have a static website. Visitors need to be able to login, edit their profiles and add comments/content to website and thereby make it more interesting. To do all of this and more, it is necessary for the students to learn using PHP and MySQL. This subject highlights on the database part of MySQL. MySQL is an open-source relational database management system. It focuses on access level to be provided to the users. The emphasis of the project on individually planned design research projects that involve considerations on the given topic. This will involve most of the topics the students would have learnt throughout the program and they will create an actual working website.
